Visual Thinking Training

Empowering leadership and teams via the Scriberia Academy to use drawing as a strategic tool.

What is it?

When you put drawing at the heart of your thinking, you give your ideas shape and clarity; you make them easier to iterate and improve, share and understand. And yet, so few of us do it!

We established the Scriberia Academy to share what we know about visual thinking, and empower people to do their best thinking by putting those skills to work every day.

If you can write the letters of the alphabet, you have enough artistic talent to produce a useful drawing. So, don’t hold back. We offer half-day workshops, short online courses, and a six-week diploma programme for deeper understanding. Take a look.

Live workshop | 2 hours
Build confidence using drawing as an everyday thinking and communication tool. Learn simple techniques for explaining ideas, visualising concepts and developing a shared visual language.

Ideal for:
Teams and individuals who want to communicate more clearly, think more creatively, facilitate better conversations, and build confidence using simple drawings in their everyday work.

My team really enjoyed their virtual ‘Using Ink to Think’ session. Not only is it useful in our everyday work as internal communicators working with complex change, but it was also a fun and inspiring team activity during what has been quite a challenging year. It was very straightforward to set up and access and we had a most enjoyable session from our respective locations.”

Live workshop | 2 hours
Learn how to simplify complex information, focus on what matters most and create visuals that communicate with clarity and impact.

Ideal for:
Leaders, communicators, facilitators, consultants and subject matter experts who need to simplify complex information and communicate it with clarity and impact.

We work with businesses on transformation projects, particularly in leadership, strategy and innovation. One of the things we most value about our collaboration with Scriberia Academy is the breakthrough moments that occur when participants see how powerfully the act of making images can clarify their thinking.

On-demand online course
For those who prefer to learn at their own pace, Dan Porter and Chris Wilson's online course explores the fundamentals of visual note-taking and sketchnoting. Through a series of practical lessons, you'll learn how to capture ideas visually, build a personal visual vocabulary and create engaging visual summaries.

Ideal for:
Individuals looking for a deeper, self-directed introduction to visual thinking and sketchnoting.

I really enjoyed this course and found it very well structured. It was great to learn from two creatives who have such a strong connection and who each bring their own unique story and style. Everything is explained clearly, from the basic tools through to the final project, which is presented step by step and offers lots of inspiration. The exercises are helpful for putting the lessons into practice. I’ve already found it very useful. Thank you!

This course is designed to give you the edge as a visual thinker, creator and communicator. No matter what sector you're in, having the skills and confidence to make quick and simple pictures to explain complex ideas, solve problems, deepen learning and tell compelling stories can help you stand out in an increasingly automated, streamlined and online workplace.

We believe that everyone can benefit from developing their ability to make and use visuals. That's why we've created this six-part, live and interactive online course. It's suitable for adults with little to no training or experience in drawing, but more experienced visual communicators also find it very rewarding.
